The KORG Monotron is a great sound-source for such a small device.
But, of course, it has no way to save patches, and that’s where this Patch Sheet comes in.
On this patch-sheet I decided to keep the keyboard, since some sounds will only sound correct when played on the right key. For instance; I got a very usable kick-drum in G that just sounds like a ‘bloop’ when played lower, and too much like a ‘zap’ when played higher. (But I might do a simpler one if the crowd so demands it.)
Click the above picture to download, happy patching.
Kent based Dubstep duo CASSETTi released their debut EP
After showing their worth with remixes such as no less than Chase & Status and one of my own tracks; ‘Droomweg‘. The duo has been working on releasing their own EP. I knew this one was coming for a while now, as I was responsible for mastering these gems..
CASSETTi takes Dubstep up a notch by spreading the influences over a spectrum of musical genre’s. Electro would be obvious, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a metal-head go wild to this.
After about 7 years of brilliant service to the techno- & net-community Offaudio came down with some server issues. What many didn’t know, was that during it’s downtime the plans to continue Offaudio were being discussed. I was informed of this much earlier, but didn’t want to leak information that wasn’t decided just yet, and thus potentially incorrect. (Actually, my hopes were that Offaudio would stay, but alas.)
I featured these Offaudio releases in pretty much any show I did, Holland to Japan. And also feature heavily in my promotional DJ-mixes, on Mixcloud or right here on these pages. When I had a day of rest during my trips to Japan, Offaudio tracks were usually the first I’d add to my playlist(s) for the day, on my iPod and when preparing for my next DJ-set.
What will remain is the memory, and of course the actual files (tracks) that still carry the Offaudio logo, the many tracks on your hard-drive, and possibly floating in your cloud-service somewhere.
And with that we say farewell to (in my opinion) the best Techno net-label yet..
The classic albums always included a variety of genres and this one’s got all the classic Beastingredients: Funky hiphop, soulfull jazz, punkrock’y tunes and yes, funny pointless skits too! I really love the well rounded sounds used in the Hiphop tracks, where Hot Sauce Committee was a bit rough around the edges, part 2 was made with the listener in mind. Making you want to come back to listen again like their previous albums were always so good at doing…
Yeah, this is not a full-blown review. But as a longtime Beastie Boys fan I love this album cause it delivers more of what I want: Beastie Boys.
